Position Summary

The Director, Quality Assurance ensures quality processes are implemented throughout all of PDT’s development lifecycles for all applications and will design, develop, and implement quality improvements throughout the organization.

Key Relationships

Reports to: VP – Software QA Development

Direct reports: Team of QA Testers & Test Engineers

Other key relationships: Other Directors for Products, Program Managers & Product Managers

Primary Responsibilities

• A visible leader across the company, the Director, QA is an advocate for quality, product performance, scalability, reliability and security across all facets of the PDT organization.
• Define/manage plans to improve product quality and working across the entire PDT organization to implement those plans.
• Establish, track and is accountable for key performance indicators and other quality metrics.
• Lead and coordinate Quality teams in projects.
• Represent QA at internal and client meetings.
• Work with clients to learn how they use/test our system and recommended changes.
• Oversee initiatives to maintain and enhance quality compliance.
• Lead the use of testing tools and methods.
• Manage product specific QA team to develop, execute and maintain the test framework and test scripts to support unit, functional, regression, performance, integration and system level testing.
• Collaborate and foster a positive environment with Product and Program Managers, development, test and documentation team members in all phases of application development, from envisioning through product deployment and maintenance.
• Responsible for identifying product test strategy and goals.
• Mentor team in the creation and maintenance of test cases and data to ensure the product satisfies functional requirements and client needs.
• Implement, track and report quality control methods and metrics.
• Be proactive in continually improving the test process.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in QA, IT or Software Development Management position.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in manual, integration, interoperability and automated testing.
• Thorough knowledge of the development, test, release and support process.
• In depth knowledge & experience of software testing processes & concepts.
• Proven management & leadership of software testing teams.
• Ability to effectively manage a team in multiple geographic locations.
• Previous experience writing comprehensive test plans and testing large scale transaction based commercial and enterprise software products.
• Experience with automated testing techniques and best practices.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Meticulous about details.
• Quick learner with strong analytical skills.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
