Job Description: Hyperion System Administrator The Hyperion System Administrator will be responsible for assisting the Eclipsys Finance department with the deployment and support of the new Hyperion budget, forecasting and reporting application. Responsibilities: • System Development o Develop functional specifications and work with technical resources to complete object development, testing and final implementation. o Evaluate logical views, data hierarchies and reporting structures, providing alternatives and recommendations based on best practices and application functionality. o Manage request prioritization o Develop and test minor system enhancements and coordinate the delivery of future major system enhancements with key vendor teams o Manage Hyperion Support resources and IT support resources. o Adhere to production support processes, implementation change management procedures and SOX related processes in completing assignments. o Coordinate user requirements and acceptance testing. o Maintain system and user documentation. • System Administration o Install client software and server upgrades and patches o Conduct performance monitoring and maintenance of the web/application server. o Manage user access and maintain security policy. o Provide on-demand support to Finance/Accounting by developing queries and reports to satisfy adhoc business questions and demands. o Develop and maintain automated reporting solutions using Hyperion Planning /Essbase API calls with Standard Excel VBA scripts • Budget and Planning o Assist the finance team in the annual budget and forecast processes, maintaining and enhancing current cubes and process flows. o Build and enhance business formulas o Extract, map and format budgets to be loaded into Oracle Financials after final budget approval. o Respond to urgent business process questions and requests from users in a high speed, high urgency environment. Requirements: • 3-5 years experience in Hyperion Essbase, EAS, EIS, ESS, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Financial Reporting, Web Analysis, Analyzer and workspace products. Hyperion system administration experience, including: Calculation (Calc) Scripts (write/maintain/enhance), Load Rules, Report Scripts, Application Manager, Database Tuning and optimization, Configuration Settings, Dense/Sparse Outline Configuration, Esscmd, MaxL and MDX scripting, Batch Scripting, Automation, Backup/Recovery, System Monitoring, Security Filters, and EssBase Functions. Familiarity with Hyperion System 9 (version 9.x) is a plus. • 3-5 years experience with Multi-dimensional databases including PL/SQL, T-SQL, Oracle databases, SQL Server databases, Excel, Access, VBA syntax • A BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Finance or Accounting. • Ability to install software and trouble shoot issues with Application servers like WebSphere • Good understanding of Finance/Accounting data and ability to communicate clearly on that topic. • Detail oriented, quick learner, multi-task, who can work in a fast paced environment. • Willing to provide immediate support to Finance team in order to meet cyclical deadlines. • Hyperion Planning Certification highly desired.
