We are currently seeking a Project Manager for our team at Presbyterian Intercommunity Health Systems located in Whittier, CA. Ideal candidates should have the following skills and come from commercial software and high-technology companies. We seek self-starters who work well in high-pressure environments.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing and supervising all information systems projects for Eclipsys at Presbyterian Intercommunity Health Systems. The primary focus will be the planning, organizing, and integration of all activities associated with the implementation of the Eclipsys applications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs and supervises the implementation function for all projects.
• Meets with customer management to identify specific implementation goals and requirements (i.e.; project scope, resource requirements, implementation timeframes, etc.)
• Estimates time, cost, and personnel requirements to complete implementation assignments by conferring with the customer, implementation consultants, and by researching and analyzing prior project plans.
• Performs implementation activities and tasks in accordance with the Eclipsys project management methodology.
• Creates the management project plan that Eclipsys and the customer use to monitor the project status throughout the implementation process.
• Reviews and approves project plans for the different applications.
• Provides guidance to the customer by establishing procedures and setting objectives for each phase of the implementation process.
• Establishes a process for tracking issues, hours, budget, and status reporting.
• Monitors projects to ensure deadlines are being met and to help resolve issues that might impact these deadlines.
• Communicates project status to Eclipsys Outsourcing site management and department areas as appropriate (i.e. Technical Support Services, Business Support Services).
• Communicates project status to the customer’s project and executive management.
• Prepares monthly status reports to keep the customer and Eclipsys management informed of the progress of all implementation projects.
• Helps to resolve technical or personnel problems as they occur by collecting documentation, interviewing involved parties, researching activities and formulating solutions.
• Helps to resolve operational problems and systems failures by directing and/or performing systems audits, analyzing problems and developing clear and concise methods for resolution.
• Ensures that the customer project team receives the appropriate software training as identified in the vendor contract.
• Works closely with the vendor to identify additional products and services, which may help meet the project goals as well as the business goals/objectives of the customer.
• Ensures that the implementation meets all contractual requirements, is completed on time, and within budget.
• Identifies potential risks and delays in the implementation and documents recommended solutions.
• Builds strong, positive relationship with the customer.
• Develops and maintains an understanding of the customer’s business metrics.
Performs financial management, administration, and planning tasks that relate to projects.
• Monitors and sets objectives and procedures to monitor project expenditures.
• Identifies variations from forecasted figures and takes appropriate corrective action.
• Performs long and short term planning activities for the project including resource levels, equipment needs, etc.
Confers with customer management to determine implementation needs and resolve problem situations.
• Attends or conducts customer meetings to establish project requirements and design project plans.
• Keeps customer informed of progress through verbal reports, status meetings, and written reports.
• Meets with customer personnel to discuss problems or issues impairing the completion of scheduled projects and formulates strategy for correcting the situation.
• Conducts post-project meetings to present final product and ensure customer expectations and objectives have been met.
• Provides technical guidance or implements training activities for customers to strengthen their knowledge or technical skill levels.

• Ability to forecast and monitor project budget
• Ability to work with all levels of customer management to ensure proper communication of project status and to identify and to identify and escalate issues as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education: College degree or equivalent experience

Required Experience:
3+ years project management experience in a software application implementation environment including the use of MS Project as a management/tracking tool. Strong computer skills with all of the MS Office products.

Required Certification:
Project Management Institute (PMI) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
