Our Technology Solutions Center (TSC) provides a complement of remote-hosting options to our customers including remote processing of Eclipsys and non-Eclipsys applications and disaster recovery. Today, over 100 healthcare organizations are tapping into the expertise, equipment and round-the-clock computing services of the TSC’s state-of-the-art hosting facility based in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. The TSC can host Eclipsys solutions, as well as applications from its strategic partners and other non-Eclipsys applications that complement Eclipsys solutions. The center can provide and maintain all aspects of an HCO’s hosted IT infrastructure, including operating systems, database software, systems and database administration, continuous capacity planning and monitoring, and Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure.

We are currently hiring a Senior Turnkey Field Engineer for our Hardware/Infrastructure group at the TSC. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of server hardware support and a minimum of 1 year of Windows operating system installation experience from a hospital or vendor environment. The candidate must be capable of lifting at least 50 pounds. Must be able to work nights and weekends, and extended (more than 8 hour) shifts when required. We seek self-starters who are results oriented, work well independently and have excellent customer service skills. You will be approachable, teachable, and a team player with a strong desire to continue learning and expanding your experience in a high impact, client focused environment.

Job Purpose and Scope:
Performs hardware installations, upgrades and modifications and Windows operating system installations on Eclipsys deployed servers both internally and for customer sites. Customer site deployments require the candidate to travel upwards of 50% of the year. Creates and maintains deployment documentation of servers and supporting infrastructure.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, maintain and support server hardware primarily Windows based and supporting infrastructure deployed at the TSC
Perform customer Windows based hardware and operating system builds of Eclipsys supplied equipment either at the TSC or at the customer site dependant upon Eclipsys’ or client requirements
Actively troubleshoot server hardware errors and failures
Work with vendors to achieve defect resolution
Will apply physical changes in accordance with change management policies and procedures
Develop and implement test plans to verify installation, upgrades or repairs, including back-out plans
Support disaster recovery testing activities
Follow department policies for TSC hardware asset inventory management
Follow department policies for TSC software asset inventory and license management
Follow department policies for TSC facility infrastructure management
Follow department’s ISO procedures
Provides strategic technical input for the direction of server environments and supporting infrastructure
Provides knowledge transfer, training and support to the team

Required Knowledge and Experience:
Strong inter-personal, communication and phone skills. Capable of explaining simple procedures in writing and orally.
Windows based server hardware not vendor specific
Windows 2003 installation

Schedule:
The work schedule is a 5 day work week from 08:30 AM – 05:30 PM with additional hours based on workload, travel needs and specific task requirements. Also, there is a monthly maintenance window every third calendar Sunday of the month between 2:00 AM and 8:00 AM which requires on-site presence as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
2 years experience with server hardware administration
1 year experience with Windows operating system installation
Must work well and professionally in a group environment
Proven communication skills both verbal and written

Education:
High-school education
Associate degree in Information Technology or equivalent job experience
Desired Skills and Experience:
General understanding of Networking/Security technologies (Ethernet, routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, etc.)
Prior work experience with large-scale networked enterprise environments preferred.
General understanding of facility infrastructure technologies (Generator, UPS, CRAC, PDU, fire suppression and detection, etc.)
Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Outlook, Visio and Word.
